Nature’s Path Envirokidz Gorilla Munch cereal with a best before date code of Aug. 24, 2019 and Sept. 21, 21 have been recalled from Trader Joe’s due to the potential of undeclared gluten, according to Trader Joes. If you have purchased this product with the aforementioned dates and are affected by celiac disease, a wheat allergy, or sensitivity to gluten and wheat, throw it away or return it to Trader Joe’s for a full refund.
The error, according to Natures Path, was due to the air contamination as a result of incorrect production scheduling in one specific facility. Other gluten-free Nature’s Path and EnviroKidz products have not been affected and are not part of this voluntary recall.
“Making healthy, nutritious, organic food is our passion,” says Arjan Stephens, executive VP of sales & marketing at Nature’s Path. “This failure to meet the gluten-free standard our consumers expect and trust from us is a deep concern. We have reviewed and changed our internal practices to ensure our gluten-free cereals are not impacted in the future.”
