It’s almost Mother’s Day! Have you thought of a great gift idea for your mom? Or put in any requests for yourself? Either way, here are some suggestions to add to your list.

A Weekend Away: I’ll start with the biggest and most extravagant first; this one is inspired by my best friend Alyssa’s hubby Scott. Scott bought Alyssa a weekend stay at a boutique hotel on the Lower East Side in Manhattan (she lives in Massachusetts). Me being her bestie, I got to tag along on this mom’s weekend away, and we completely indulged ourselves with lots of shopping, facials at the spa, manicures, and loads of yummy meals and daily desserts of gelato and French macaroons. We had a blast together enjoying lots of quality time and catching up. So for a new or old mom, why don’t you buy her a weekend away with a girlfriend? It can be simple depending on your budget (a B&B somewhere quaint in New England), but a little Google-ing can help you find something she would love and enjoy. My family uses the website sniqueaway.com for hotel and travel deals. And my own parents really love airbnb.com.

A Moment To Herself: You can never go wrong with a day at the spa (sohosanctuary.com), or a simple manicure-pedicure gift certificate. Or what about hiring a cleaning lady for a month? Perhaps buy her a class of her favorite hobby: cooking, knitting, photography, a boot camp class, or paddleboarding? Or consider a juice cleanse–only for the mom who has expressed interest; otherwise you could be sending the wrong message!

A Bit Of Beauty: No gift guide from me would be complete without some beauty products from Dr. Hauschka! They have two really fab gift sets right now: the Timeless Beauty gift set, which includes some of their terrific Regenerating Products for mature skin, and the Rest and Relaxation gift set which includes two of my holy grail products, Lavender Bath and Lavender Sandalwood Moisturizer. Pure natural, nurturing love!

A Captured Memory: My grandparents had silhouette portraits of each of their grandchildren when we were growing up. So when my son was just under a year, we got a silhouette portrait of two of us together and it’s something that I adore and look at daily. They make wonderful home décor keepsakes. Along those same lines, I love to give beautiful framed pictures of our son as presents for grandparents and aunts.

A Simple Hand Saver: As a mom, my hands are constantly in water and get so terribly dry. Hand cream is something I use daily (many, many times a day) and I keep a tube in every bag and in each room in the house. My favorite hand creams are Dr. Hauschka’s, Jurlique’s Rose, Weleda Skin Food, and Aesop’s hand cream–all smell amazing!

A Piece Of Unique Jewelry: Lastly, Lime Green Modern on Etsy makes beautiful affordable mother child necklaces. Perfect for moms or even grandmas, too!
