Five local doctors recently opened MDxpress, an urgent care center in Mamaroneck. Similar to an emergency room, the doctors at the MDxpress treat ailments such as stomachaches, sore throats, and lacerations needing stitches without the long wait.

A new emergency care facility opened in Mamaroneck in March, providing patients with efficient urgent and primary care at a fraction of the wait and cost. MDxpress, founded and operated by five local doctors who all work in the Montefiore ER, aims to bring the personalized attention of a small practice and the skill of a regular ER to the local community.
“There aren’t a lot of urgent cares in the area. They’re popping up everywhere in other parts of the country, but in Westchester, there’s only a handful,” says co-founder Jason Lupow, M.D. “We saw a need and we wanted a way to give back to the community.”
Patients are treated for all ailments, from sore throats to stomachaches to more serious injuries like small lacerations. “Great care now. We want to provide you with care that we would provide to our own family members and we want to provide it now,” Dr. Lupow adds, stressing that the doctors anticipate a waiting period of no more than 30 minutes on any day. MDxpress accepts all types of insurance and patients can walk in or schedule appointments over the phone or online.
