The Lanyard Ladies, a mom-owned business based in East Rockaway on Long Island, was named the winner of the Bethenny in Your Business $20K Giveaway. The business received a check for $20,000 on an episode of Bethenny.
Fox Channel 5’s Bethenny show recently hosted the Bethenny in your Business $20K Giveaway, which asked small business owners to use Skype to pitch their businesses and future plans to host Bethenny Frankel and her panel of experts, including Kevin Harrington, former panel member and investor on ABC’s Shark Tank, and author and celebrity stylist June Ambrose.
The winner of the giveaway, announced on Bethenny today, was The Lanyard Ladies, a business started by two moms in East Rockaway on Long Island. Founders Colleen Demas and Heidi Cohen received a check for $20,000 and some business advice from Frankel and Ambrose:
“You should use a child as the face of your brand, not your faces. It will draw the kids in and make it feel younger,” Ambrose said.
“I think you should change the name to Love My Lanyards,” Frankel advised.
The Lanyard Ladies’ pitch was chosen from hundreds of Skype submissions, which Frankel and her panel narrowed down to three finalists: The Lanyard Ladies, Swipes from Florida, and the Ohio-based My Momma’s Kitchen.
