It’s National Bowling Day on Aug. 11, and at Rab’s, that means lots of family friendly activities for all ages. It’s not only a fun game, but good for you, too.
Did you know that you can burn over 100 calories per hour of play, as well as build muscles, sharpen hand- and eye-coordination, and even out your balance and coordination? Plus, playing three games is equivalent to walking one mile.
Children 16 years old and younger bowl for free (up to two games) on Aug. 11, from 1 pm to 6 pm, to celebrate National Bowling Day as well as have their face painted, play games, and more. Adults can bowl for free with a coupon from www.GoBowling.com.
But you don’t need National Bowling Day to enjoy the games. Rab’s offers open bowling throughout the summer; Cosmic Bowling featuring Bowling Music Network; party rooms; a snack bar; a pro shop; and the newest addition, Laser Maze Challenge, where you try to beat the clock without getting snagged by a laser beam.
Rab’s is handicap accessible, and it’s open Monday through Thursday, from 9 am to midnight; Sundays, from 10 am to midnight; Cosmic Bowling on Friday evenings, from 11 pm to 2 am, and Saturday evenings, from 9 pm to 2 am.
Weekday rates are $5.50 per game; $4 for junior games (up to 18 years old); or $18 per hour; $3.50 per game or $13 per hour for seniors 50 years and older. Weekend rates, Friday through Sunday are $6 per game, $4 per junior game, up to 18 years old; $23 per hour until 6 pm and $26 per hour after 6 pm. Cosmic Bowling rates are $32 per hour or group specials. Rates for the Laser Maze Challenge are $3 per person, one play; $5 for two plays; $10 for five plays; $15 for eight plays and $20 for 12 plays.
Reservations are not required, but strongly recommended as lanes for Cosmic Bowling go quickly.
