John Q. Public and Jane Doe are the unsung heroes of a new history exhibit in Brooklyn Heights

Children will discover why liberty is a cornerstone of our nation, when Handmade History at the Brooklyn Historical Society presents “In Pursuit of Freedom” on Feb. 8.

The family-friendly arts program explores Brooklyn’s anti-slavery movement’s unsung heroes — the ordinary residents, black and white — who shaped our neighborhoods, city, and nation with a vision of freedom and equality. Tour the exhibit and then make a fun craft.

Handmade History on Feb. 8 at 3 pm. Free.
