Hooray, it’s the fourth annual celebration of Louis Armstrong’s Wonderful World of Music on July 8 at the Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
The Kupferberg Center for the Arts at Queens College welcomes bandleader Jon Batiste to curate this year’s line up with sets that promise to be adventurous and improvisational, a cross-community celebration.
Batiste has said of Armstrong, “was a God-gifted cultural amalgamation of all the best that America has to offer.”
This family music festival celebrates the life and music of Armstrong. Live DJs, arts and crafts, and face painting. It’s just blocks away from the Louis Armstrong home.
Wonderful World of Music on July 8 from 1 pm to 8 pm. Free, but there are VIP tickets for $20.
