To celebrate Black History Month, Enrichment Through the Arts is lifting the curtain on its Civil War production, “Four Score and Seven Years Ago.”
Set against the backdrop of America’s bloodiest conflict, the 1863 Battle of Gettysburg, “Four Score” tells the story of escaped slave Lemuel, whose notions of freedom and humanity are challenged when he befriends Jacob, a brash, young soldier in the Confederate army.
While both Jacob and Lemuel find themselves on opposite sides of a very tall fence, it doesn’t take long for them to realize that their differences pale when compared to their similarities in this bold, exciting and, above all, American musical.
