Growing Tree Nursery School recently updated its computer center with new Apple computers, iPads, and the most advanced programs and media materials Apple has to offer. Children are able to use the new computer center at least three times per week.
Family-owned and operated for more than 30 years, Growing Tree Nursery School provides a warm and encouraging learning environment for children age 2-5 divided into toddler, preschool, and pre-kindergarten programs. Growing Tree opened its renovated Apple Computer Center in August, updated with new Apple computers, a host of iPads, and the most advanced programs and media materials that Apple has to offer, making the center accessible to all students, including the toddlers. Each staff member is responsible for three to four students and is fully trained on all of the state-of-the-art equipment found in the lab, utilizing it for music, art, science, and math lessons. Students are now able to visit the lab at least three times per week.
Growing Tree is known for presenting strong, academic skills in fun, creative ways including music, art, and puppetry. “Everything is hands-on,” says Dawn Friedman, owner. Aiming to equip students for higher learning, Friedman professes the school’s objective is to “foster self-esteem and encourage the children to thrive and grow in a very nurturing and loving environment.”
Friedman also wants parents to be actively involved in their child’s learning. “We offer a variety of class options and meeting times to suit the needs of the parent and child. We are very accommodating,” she says. Licensed by the Office of Children and Family Services and registered with the New York State Education Department, the school meets top-notch standards in curriculum, hiring standards, and educational functions.
