Get a taste of Native American culture

Look no further than the Center for the Arts College of Staten Island for a taste of Native American culture, when the Thunderbird American Indian Dancers blazes into town on Nov. 24, 25, and 26.

Presented by Enrichment Through the Arts, the production features the group that has enchanted audiences with songs and dances of the tribes of the Northwest Coast, Woodlands, Plains and the Southwest for more than 25 years. The rollicking repertoire includes the traditional “Fancy Dance” and “Hoop Dance,” as well as a variety of other distinct regional tribal pieces that are sure to delight and amaze.

<div>Treehouse Shakers’ Branching OUT After-School program is for ages 12-14. This awarded program is for young people who identify as LGBTQIA+, or are seeking to become better allies. Branching OUT centers on discovering and exploring one’s story and identity through an intentionally artist-led format. During our community-based program, young people will explore and reflect on their own story to create a larger, more meaningful experience, while gaining self-empowerment and gathering with like-minded peers.
