Tea Time for Kids

Kids and their dollies, teddies, or other favorite stuffed animals are invited to attend Tea Time for Kids, where they’ll enjoy crafts and stories and learn about the history of tea. Registration required.
Children’s Garden Fall Sessions
Queens Botanical Garden, Flushing

The leaves changing color doesn’t signal the end of outdoor discovery. Kids ages 5-12 can keep in touch with nature during two Children’s Garden Fall Sessions. On Oct. 7, budding young gardeners can join a bird walk, make a birdhouse, and take home an autumn plant. On Oct. 27, they’ll help cover the garden with mulch, plant flower and garlic bulbs for the next growing season, and create a leaf collage with foliage collected on a tree walk.

Making Strides of Queens

The journey to end breast cancer starts with a single step. Families can take that step at the Making Strides of Queens fundraising walk, where they can join thousands of other Queens residents to honor breast cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to the disease, and raise funds and awareness to help end it forever.

New York Hall of Science, Flushing
Opens Oct. 27
NYSCI’s newest exhibit explores the connection of cultural vitality to immigration, urbanization, and sustainability through the intersection of art, technology, and science. Fourteen artists/groups will participate to connect audiences through active participation, aesthetic beauty, technology, culturally shared symbols, and vocabulary.
