Your kids have two chances Easter weekend to search for the colorful eggs left behind by that wily bunny:
April 5: Bounce, play, and find six hidden Easter eggs at the Jump N’ Easter Egg Hunt at Pump It Up of Norwalk. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for photos. Click for details
April 7: The Stamford Museum and Nature Center hosts the 8th Annual Heckscher Farm Egg Hunt from 10am-12pm, when hundreds of eggs will be hidden all over the farm for children ages 6 and younger to find (bring your own basket). Click for details

Dino-mite!
Go back in time with Dinosaurs Unearthed, a traveling exhibit that has made its way to the Connecticut Science Center. The exhibit includes 14 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs that roar, stomp, and move. Learn how these creatures were unearthed at the dinosaur dig table, examine fossils, and find out how scientists are furthering their research. Click for details

Illuminating Stories
Fred Marcellino’s award-winning illustrations, including this portrait of Charles Perrault’s Puss in Boots, have graced the covers of many books for children and adults. A select few will be on display April 7 through May 20 in an exhibit titled Dancing by the Light of the Moon at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center. Click for details

Get Toasty
It may be spring, but there’s still a chill in the air. All the more reason to attend Friday Family Campfires: Night Sounds. Huddle around the warm fire to listen to the sounds of the night sky and roast marshmallows for s’mores. Bring a blanket or folding chair to sit on. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Cultured Kids
Bringing young children to a museum doesn’t have to be stressful. At the Bellarmine Museum of Art’s Family Fun Day, the staff gives kid-friendly tours of the museum, reads stories, and offers crafts throughout the day. The tour and stories focus on the special exhibition Immortality of the Spirit: Chinese Funerary Art from the Han and Tang Dynasties. Click for details

Players from Across the Pond
Stepping Stones Museum brings a bit of Gaelic culture to Norwalk when it hosts the Tigh Na Coille Irish Youth Folklore troupe, which features performers ages 11-17 from County Clare in Ireland. The day begins with a song and dance demonstration by the young performers, followed by a performance of traditional Irish music, song, and dance, in which the troupe will be accompanied by award-winning master fiddler Denis Liddy. Sunny Days
Chase the clouds away with some of your favorite characters at Sesame Street Live: 1-2-3 Imagine! In this high-energy musical, audience members join Elmo, Ernie, Big Bird, and their friends as they travel to distant lands. Ernie tackles the high seas, Elmo explores an African rainforest, Bert meets an octopus with the blues, and children learn that a little imagination can take them on some wonderful adventures. Spring Exploration
Spring break is a great time to explore the outdoors. During Take-A-Hike Week, the Stamford Museum and Nature Center has a laundry list of activities to keep you and your children busy. Go on a forest-wide scavenger hunt, explore the vernal pools, join a Wildlife CSI hike, and take a self-guided nature “art-venture” where you can make recycled paper, letterboxing journals, and more. Strong Bodies, Strong Minds
The Westport Weston Y is joining 1,700 Y’s across the country in celebrating Healthy Kids Day, the nation’s largest health day for children and families. There will be healthy foods to snack on, crafts to make, an open swim where kids can learn about safe swimming, a “touch a truck” area, a moon bounce, and gym activities to get your heart pumping. Music to the Ears
Arts for Healing, in collaboration with the Greenwich Village Orchestra, presents Together in Music Community Concert. Arts for Healing is committed to helping children and adults with communication disorders by breaking barriers and creating a channel for self-expression through the arts. Some clients of the program perform as guest musicians at the concert, which is formatted for audience participation. Proceeds from the concert benefit the organization. Click for details
