‘If You Give a Mouse a Cookie & Other Story Books’
Queens Theatre, Flushing
June 2
It all started with a little treat showing the increasing energy of the mouse, with the little boy being run ragged by the end of the story. In the musical review, If You Give A Mouse A Cookie & Other Story Books, based on the circular story by Laura Numeroff and Felicia Bond, a boy gives a cookie to a mouse, then the mouse asks for a glass of milk. He then request a straw (to drink the milk), a mirror (to avoid a milk mustache). The hilarity continues with more requests when a look at the refridgerator makes him thirsty, so he asks for a glass of milk. The circle is compete when he wants a cookie to go with it.

Along with her bandmates, LeVande gets kids moving by encouraging them to dance, play air guitar, and sing along to the group’s upbeat songs. Through bright vocals and smart lyrics (LeVande, by the way, has both a law degree and a master’s degree in music), LeVande’s music hits on kid-appropriate themes with an emphasis on child growth and development.
