“Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood LIVE!” Comes To NYC

tigerIt was like a dream come true when Daniel Tiger and his family and friends popped out of our favorite television show and onto the stage of “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood LIVE!” right before my very happy eyes at the NYU Skirball Center. It was a grr-ific moment when Trolley drove across the stage to my favorite song, “It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.” And all my favorite friends took the stage: O the Owl, Katerina Kittycat, Prince Wednesday, Miss Elaina, and of course, Daniel Tiger! Mom and Dad Tiger were there, too, and my little sister was so excited to see Baby Margaret! Mommy and Daddy were singing and dancing along more than me–they can be so silly. The show and its message made our hearts smile and was a blast for kids of all ages.

From the first moment that I heard the sound of Trolley ding, I knew it was going to be a beautiful day in the neighborhood at “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood LIVE!” The show had me mesmerized from start to finish as I was smiling and singing along to all my favorite neighborhood songs and some great, new ones, too, learning valuable lessons along the way. The show told us about the best day ever, following Daniel and his family and friends as they learned the value and joy of being kind, caring and helping others.

The live show incorporated some of my favorite moments and songs from the television series. From learning how to be a big helper in your family to doing something nice for your neighbor, I was hanging on every word and at the edge of my seat to see what would come next. Trolley took Daniel and friends aboard to adventures at school, Music Man Stan’s, Baker Aker’s, and more. Each adventure taught me something new and valuable and helped me learn how to be big and strong. Grrr!

Everyone in the audience was singing along to “Clothes On, Eat Breakfast, Brush Teeth, Put on Shoes, and Off to School, “Grownups Come Back,” “Try a New Food, it Might Taste Good!” and “Rest is Best.” Daniel and his friends teach us little tykes important lessons and personally, I listen better to them than my grownups sometimes. I guess that’s why they are so popular. Don’t get me wrong, I love Mommy’s valiant effort to try to get me to eat veggies all but having Daniel Tiger, my role model and hero, live on stage to convince me, was the best trick ever!

The show was also full of wonderful explorations and surprises. Each journey had a fun and engaging story, song, and dance. My personal favorite was a new and exciting number at Music Man Stan’s where the crew taught us their happy dance of joy –it was boom-erific! There were high fives and low fives, feet stomping, and jumping up and down. It was so catchy and I was doing it all day long!

And just when I thought things could not get any better, I was escorted down a secret hallway and at the end of the tunnel was my pot of gold: Daniel and Katerina were there waiting to personally meet and greet me and my family. We stopped to capture the Kodak moment and smiled our biggest smiles together. It was such a special moment that I will treasure forever! Katerina gave me a big hug and it made me purr. Meow, meow! And my little sister loved Daniel’s grr-ific hug and even gave him a tiger-tastic kiss. How cute!

Celebrating Neighbor Day at “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood LIVE!” was off the charts. I love listening to my Daniel Tiger music, watching his television show and playing with my trolley and neighborhood friends set at home but seeing the show live on stage brought it to life like never before. I wish Daniel could come to my neighborhood every day! I might just need to go on tour with them.

Don’t miss the show, it’s Grr-ific! Ugga Mugga! To find Daniel Tiger Live in your neighborhood, please visit danieltigerlive.com.
