Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises announced the launch of their new “Hello Brooklyn” tour, which will celebrate Brooklyn and all of its offerings. Starting May 2, 2016 tourists and locals will be able to “explore this popular borough’s rich history, pop culture, local lore and even sample a curated selection of Brooklyn-made food and drinks,” according a press release.
The tour starts in Manhattan, and as the cruise travels toward Brooklyn, guests will learn about the borough’s rich history. Sights include the Statue of Liberty, the Bay Ridge waterfront, Sunset Park, Industry City, Gowanus, Red Hook, the Buttermilk Channel, Brooklyn Bridge park, DUMBO, the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint. The cruise turns around under the Williamsburg bridge and heads back to Pier 83.
The tour will be narrated and will cover everything from Brooklyn’s “history to hip hop.”
As a special treat, the cruise will offer specially curated Brooklyn fare. According to the press release, “Brooklyn Brewery’s signature Brooklyn Lager and other seasonal beers, a special Coney Island Brewery + New York Pretzel ‘Pretzel and Pilsner’ combo, iconic Junior’s Cheesecake ‘Little Fellas,’ a grab-and-go selection of Blue Marble Ice Cream flavors, a rotating roster of treats from the award-winning Brooklyn Cupcake, hot dogs and sausages from Brooklyn Cured, specialty cocktails featuring Brooklyn Gin, hot and iced coffee from Brooklyn Roasting Company and pickles from McClure’s Specialty Foods,” will all be offered.

“As New York’s oldest and largest sightseeing company committed to telling unique stories and offering unparalleled vantage points of the city, we’re thrilled to be launching the Hello Brooklyn cruise complete with stunning views, cultural enlightenment and a taste of local food favorites, which will leave guests fully immersed in the city’s largest borough,” Chief Executive Officer of New York Cruise Lines, Inc., Danny Boockvar, said in a statement.
Circle Line is also adding two new boats to its fleet, the Circle Line Bronx and Circle Line Staten Island. They will be able to carry up to 600 passengers and will provide most of the Hello Brooklyn tours.
The tour will depart daily at 2:30pm and tickets start at $30 for children, $38 for adults, and $36 for seniors.
