2.  New York Family has just established a wonderful (and free) weekly e-newsletter for expectant and new parents (up to toddler).  Check out the first one here:    Sign Up for it  here

And now for the week’s classes tips:

New and expectant parents have a lot of questions, and often the best answers are not in books but in live classes and seminars where they can connect with other new parents and parents-to-be, and experts who are especially knowledgeable abut their issues. —

This week’s three recommendations include:

*A class on Mommy & Toddler Yoga at Destination Maternity.

*A seminar on How To Handle Toddler Tantrums sponsored by Mommybites.

* A New Dads Boot Camp sponsored by NYC Dads Group at Tribeca Parenting.

Here’s the scoop:

1. Mommy & Toddler Yoga (Destination Maternity): Thursdays, 10:30 – 11:30 AM

($16/class drop in or class card, unless otherwise noted. Reservations are required: 212-588-0220. For more info, and for all Destination Maternity events in March, click here.)

2. How to Handle Tantrums – Getting to Calm When your Kids Are Not (Mommybites): Tuesday, 3/27; 8:15 PM

($25 per class. It’s part of their Toddler Seminar Series, which also covers potty training and sibling preparation. For more info and to register, click here)

3. New Dads Boot Camp (NYC Dads Group/Tribeca Parenting): Saturday, March 31, 10 AM – 1 PM

($55 per dad plus $10 for take-home materials. New Dad Boot Camp is an opportunity for expectant and new dads (and their babies) to connect with veteran dads for a frank discussion on the experience of becoming a father. They talk about the opportunities and rewards of personally caring for our children as dads demonstrate holding, burping, changing, swaddling, and comforting crying babies. Plus, they discuss a number of key new-parent related issues like navigating work as a new parent, and creating a baby-safe environment. For more info, click here.)
