Arrg! Story Pirates live on stage

With the Story Pirates, silliness reigns.

Described as “Monty Python meets Schoolhouse Rock,” the musical sketch comedy group taps into kids’ imaginations, helping them write stories and then staging them in big, loud outrageous fashions.

On Oct. 2, they bring their highly creative, relentlessly entertaining live show to Symphony Space in Manhattan.

Past performances have brought to life such stories as “Tickle Monsters are Robots” and “The Do-Do Bird and the Dead People“ — imaginative tales that are equally creative in their production, complete with costumes, puppets, dance sequences and songs.

Story Pirates was founded in 2003 with a desire to get children invested and involved in the arts by showing them that their ideas, words and stories are important. Through the group’s regular workshops, one day your child could see his own story brought to life on stage.
