During these dog days of August, we wanted to give a special shout-out to our favorite local splashy playground. Pack up the bathing suits and towels, because there’s water, water everywhere at the Danish-designed Chelsea Waterside Park at Hudson River Park. From 8am until dusk, kids can have a ball making waves in the wading area, getting drenched by the wall of faucets, and running through the funky, blue fountains, while parents and caregivers can sit in cool comfort beneath shady umbrellas. The Chelsea Waterside Play Area is open year-round, though the water features are turned off in the winter.
