Advantage Care Health Center in Freeport is expanding to provide more services to residents of Long Island’s South Shore. The expanded services are within primary care (pediatrics and women’s health), dentistry, podiatry, and behavioral and mental health services (psychology, psychiatric, and psycho-therapy). The expansion is scheduled to be complete by the end of this month.
The mental and behavioral health care team will expand, making for a greater availability of doctors, therapists, nurses and social workers. Patients will have more appointment times available to choose from for consultations, therapy sessions, and other services.
Other features of the expansion include a larger waiting room and a designated triage area. Dental services will also be offered six days. Dental patients will be able to receive exams, X-rays, fillings, cleanings and other routine and preventative treatments and services.
The project is being funded by a grant from the New York State Department of Health. As a federally qualified health center, Advantage Care is open to the community and specializes services for adults and children with special needs. Insurances accepted include Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care Plans and Medicare.
