Many youth classes will now be included with family memberships at the YMCA in White Plains.
Family memberships at White Plains YMCA will now include access to more than 20 youth programs for children older than 3—including ballet, basketball, and soccer—which families previously had to pay for. Children over five feet tall are now also welcome to take spin classes. Although swim lessons aren’t included, members pay a reduced rate and can enjoy family swim five times a week.
The addition to the family membership came about in response to a community need. “Not much was included in the family membership for the 3- to 13-year-old children,” says Heather Bell, White Plains YMCA’s associate executive director. “We asked ourselves how we could offer more to the families that we serve.”
Free babysitting is offered every day for children 6 weeks of age and older, with after-school care available on-site and at two locations off-site. The White Plains YMCA also has summer camp options.
The White Plains YMCA receives new, state-of-the-art equipment every two years, features two pools, a gymnasium, and an indoor track.
The White Plains YMCA is committed to ensuring that everyone has access to a healthy lifestyle. No family is ever turned away because of financial need.
