"Legends" at the Barclays Center
Beginning this Thursday, two world-famous circus powerhouses—Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey—will present “Legends.” In this group show at the Barclays Center, a variety of acts will come together in a diverse cast from 20 countries. The lineup includes circus legends like big cat presenter Alexander Lacey, the Cossack horseback Riders of the Wind, the Ringling Bros. Asian Elephants, and more! (Opens Thursday) -
New York International Children's Film Festival
For four weekends this winter, the New York International Children’s Film Festival will take families on a trip around the world without having to leave the city. From 2,500 submissions from across the globe, the festival chooses 100 films in more than 15 languages from over 30 countries. It showcases the best features in animation, live action, documentary, and experimental film. There are also Q&As with the directors and film-making workshops. Plus, the audience will get to vote for which films should win awards. (Opens Friday) -
BAMKids Film Festival 2016 at BAM
The BAMkids Film Festival is back for its 18th year this weekend! This year the fest will screen shorts and feature films from 25 countries, including “Miffy the Movie” and “Carpe Diem,” a doc of shorts that highlights the struggles kids face while chasing their dreams. After the screenings, children can stop by the café for comic book-making, animation workshops, magic shows, a BubbleMania! performance, food, and much more. (Saturday-Sunday) -
