Tutors on Wheels in Forest Hills is adding two new programs to their curriculum this summer.
The first is an SAT prep program that runs 10 weeks and starts ater the July 4th weekend. It will focus solely on the newly designed SAT, which just started being given this spring. Classes will be held three mornings a week focusing on math, reading, and writing exclusively; each class will be approximately 90 minutes a day.
Teachers of each of these classes will have mastered both the format of the new SAT, effective strategies, and the material they are responsible for teaching. Children will receive copyrighted workbooks in each subject from an accredited educational publisher as well as various in-class assessments and progress reports to update parents on how their child is doing with the curriculum. Students will be assigned daily homework assignments so that they can practice effective strategies and apply their newly acquired knowledge to questions just like those seen on the actual SAT.
Also, Tutors on Wheels will be offering a “Jump Start” program that will run for eight weeks. Its objective is to help students in grades 3-8 avoid the notorious “summer slide” while also getting a “jump-start” on the curriculum and material they will need to know going into their new grade level in September.
Classes will be held three mornings a week focusing on Common Core math, reading, and writing exclusively; each class will be approximately 90 minutes a day.
Be sure to sign up for these new programs by June 27 as space is limited.
