Hi Twitterverse! I missed you last week. You probably didn’t even notice I was gone, because my wildly competent and hilarious colleague Melanie took over our account in my absence, but I was busy vacationing with my own mama in the Midwest. It was beautiful and relaxing (right up until my flight got cancelled because of tornado warnings–I hope everyone in the area is safe and okay!) but now I’m back and anxious to show my love. And what better way to do so than commenting on all the tweets I missed while I was away; a huge thank you to Melanie for compiling these stand-out morsels of digital thought!
When seriously challenged I think… one foot in front of the other and stay the course. Never surrender… never. #RonR — Ted Rubin (@TedRubin) April 11, 2012
Wise words. This sort of reminds me of the time I went sky-diving and the instructor said, “Well, you’re going to get to the ground no matter what happens, so you may as well enjoy it.” On second thought, maybe it’s not exactly the same, but the point is, life goes on, so what can we all do but keep trying?

Teaching kids to appreciate themselves and their achievements is a great way to build their self-esteem. — Tracey—PBS Parents (@pbsparents) April 10, 2012
And another piece of great advice, just for good measure. Here’s to raising awesome, empathetic, kind, considerate, self-confident, AMAZING kids who never give up. The world won’t know what hit it when we’re done raising the future generation!
Want to get outside today? Why not head to @prospectparkzoo to meet 4 new dingoes from Australia? Wish I wasn’t stuck in an office! — Dawn Roode (@DawnRoode) April 12, 2012
Now that the nice weather’s settling in, I have a feeling I’m going to be constantly wishing I wasn’t stuck in an office! Pro-tip from our editorial director: If you’re out and about, definitely go meet these Aussie visitors.
“Raising a teenager is like nailing Jell-O to the wall.” — Mommy Pains (@mommypains) April 12, 2012
I LOLed at this one…but even if it’s insanely messy and frustrating, at least it’s delicious, right? I guess that’s the point.
Just read “Ancient Texts Will Go Online” tweet from @nprnews (n.pr/IyTp7u) and thought, “texts haven’t been around that long!” #oof — Doug Campbell (@_dougcampbell) April 12, 2012
I’m worried you might sometimes forget exactly how hilarious my co-workers are on a daily basis. This should take care of that concern for a couple more weeks.
