Oh hey there. What’s that? It’s Wednesday, not Monday? Well darn, I was hoping you wouldn’t notice. I’m sorry! You know those days when life just gets crazy and suddenly it’s Wednesday and nothing has been crossed off the to-do list you made on Monday yet? Well you’re a parent, so of course you know. Yeah. Please forgive me. This will be so much fun you’ll forget I ever let you down! I’m actually a little bit panicked today because of this apocalyptic heat-wave sweeping New York, so we’re focusing on explicitly not scary things: we’ll be examining crafts, sentimental emotions, goofy videos, and adorable kids. Monday Shmonday, right?! Okay let’s get started with some crafting!

No matter how bad a day I’ve had, doing the hokey pokey with my daughter always manages to turn it around.
— Jessica Valenti (@JessicaValenti) July 12, 2012
It’s the little things in life, right? Also Jessica Valenti is a personal hero of mine so seeing her tweeting about mundane things like the hokey pokey is very exciting for me. Is that weird? No, it’s 2012.
Grateful for family & friends. These are the foundation, walls, & the roof over our heads. The rest? Window dressing. #gratitude

— Sesame Street (@sesamestreet) July 10, 2012
I’m not trying to favor Sesame Street in these round ups, I swear! They are just continuously awesome, maybe? I also feel really good about concluding with a video. Who doesn’t love a good Cookie Monster video?!
And that’s all folks! I’m terrified of this impending rain so feel free to tweet sweet nothings at me and tell me everything’s going to be okay. Also, don’t be mad if I cancel plans with you later–it’s not you, it’s me (actually it’s the rain.) Here’s to a sunny weekend; I’ll see you next Monday, promise.
