Hey guys! Happy July! I hope you’re excited about the Fourth, even though I’m kind of sad it doesn’t come prepackaged as an awesome long weekend this year. Personally, July 1 has always been a more meaningful date–my family lived in Canada for a long time and Canada Day was a big deal, plus it’s my baby brother’s birthday! This year we became citizens of the United States just in time for Canadian Independence Day, and my brother turned 21 (Happy Birthday, Dan!), so it was quite a day. I almost don’t need the Fourth, I’ve already had so much excitement…no, I’m kidding. 10000% kidding. It may not be a long weekend, but I’ll take a lazy Wednesday to relax by the pool, bbq some delicious veggies and meats, and watch the fireworks. Before we get to Wednesday though, let’s ring in this brand new month with some cute tweets, some practical tweets, and some sentimental tweets.

Our deputy editor is raising a farm on her desk, made from stuffed animals, LEGO animals, and other miscellaneous characters. It’s adorable. Which is to say, I strongly approve of this dino visitor.
Sometimes, I really hate being a grown up. — Momo Fali (@MomoFali) June 26, 2012
Co-signed! The life of a toddler often seems much more appealing, but then I remember that I can have ice cream for dinner and it sort of evens out.

You win the karma award! I hate the trope of the unhelpful New Yorker…especially because so many are so kind.

Think, imagine, create, invent… use your mind, without fear, like when you were a child. #RonR — Ted Rubin (@TedRubin) June 27, 2012
New month, new motto? I vote yes. Childlike imagination is something that we could all use a bit more.

Martha meets Martha? I’m in full support of this, mostly because I love when people tweet about meeting their idols. If only Judy Blume would show up at the next blogging conference I’m attending…
