When Tara Parker-Pope, author of the NY Times “Well” blog,
began having problems in her marriage, she did what any good science
journalist would do: she delved into the research in an attempt to make
some sense of her situation. What she found was a world of scientific
studies devoted to understanding what makes marriage work, and her personal
quest became the basis for the book “For Better: The Science of A Good
Marriage." —
What’s more, Parker-Pope continues to explore modern
marriage in this recent Times article, in which she maintains that in
today’s marriages, “people are looking for a partnership, and they want partners who make their lives more interesting.”
