As summer winds down, it’s almost time for apple picking season in 2025! With the school year kicking off, why not make the most of your weekend by visiting one of these local farms for a fun day of apple picking?

You can gather up some delicious fresh apples and whip up your favorite treats like apple cider and pie! Plus, many of these farms have fun attractions like playgrounds, farm stands, and special events, making them perfect for a full day of family adventures.

One Hour and Under

Demarest Farms

PYO Apples will return on August 30th – September 1st, 6th-7th, 13th-14th, 20th-21st, 23rd-24th, 27th-28th, October 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 11th-13th, 2025. Step foot in the orchards and start picking delicious apples for your seasonal pies, ciders, and more.

Some of their tasty apples include Cameo, Cortland, Empire, Fuji, Gala, Golden Delicious, Honeycrisp, McIntosh, Mutsu (Crispin), Red Delicious, Snap Dragon, and Zestar. 

$8 per person (age 2 and over), which includes free parking, entrance to the apple orchard, and playground. Demarest Farms is still using a reservation system for apple picking this year, so be sure to make a reservation in their system ahead of time.

Hillview Farms

Bring the whole family (even the dog!) for a great outing that everyone will enjoy during the fall season. Keep in mind that the farm is cash only, so come prepared if you plan on buying anything from the farmstand while you’re there. It is open 9 am to 6 pm, daily.

They even have smaller trees that little ones can reach! Open to the public from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday. No reservations required!
