The Art League of Long Island’s Summer Art Adventure Moves to Dix Hills

The Art League of Long Island’s Summer Art Adventure program is moving to the Paumanok Elementary School in Dix Hills for this upcoming summer. Now in its 24th year, Summer Art Adventure offers kids and teens fun and creative activities led by dedicated art education professionals.

Art Adventurers learn about contemporary and historical art figures, employing their techniques to explore a variety of visual arts mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, found-object art and more. Age appropriate projects are geared to expand students’ artistic horizons, and the atmosphere is inspiring and fun.

Special guest visitors (human and animal) in select sessions round out the fun! A salon-style art exhibit for family and friends is held at the end of each session. Beginning July 8, kids ages 5-10 participate in five weekly activities centered on exciting themes.

Pre-teens and teens ages 11-14 find inspiration from the weekly themes, with a focus on developing essential higher level art skills in one or both 10-day sessions beginning July 8 & July 22. Choose one or more week/session. Early Childhood for ages 5 and 6 is from 9am-11:30am, Young Artists for ages 7-10 is from 9am-2pm, and Mature Artists for ages 11-14 is from 9am-2pm.

All classes take place in air-conditioned rooms at the Paumanok Elementary School at 1 Seaman Neck Road in Dix Hills.

The Art League of Long Island will hold an Open House on March 31 from 10am-2pm where you can meet the instructors and learn more about the summer programs and year-round art classes for children, teens, and adults. There will be live art demonstrations and hands-on activities. The free event takes place in the Art League’s center at 107 East Deer Park Road in Dix Hills.
