We can all use a little spice this winter to warm us up. Cinnamon adds depth and warmth to sweet and savory dishes alike. Plus it has extensive health benefits such as regulating blood sugar levels and lowering LDL cholesterol. Recent studies have shown that cinnamon boosts cognitive function and memory. (Sprinkle some on your kids cereal before they head out to school!) It’s used in baked goods, spice blends, and sauces. Flavorful and fragrant, cinnamon recipes are comforting to everyone. One of our favorite recipes to make with this spice are cinnamon rolls. Here is a recipe that your kids can try at home…—
Yummy No-Bake Cinnamon Rolls
Ingredients:
2 Slices Wholewheat Bread (crust removed)
2 Tablespoons Butter
2 Tablespoons Cinnamon Sugar
2 Tablespoons Confectioner’s Sugar
1/8 Teaspoon Water, or as needed
Steps:
1. Roll the bread slices until they are very flat. Lightly toast. On one side of both slices butter the bread and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Roll up the bread until tight and cut into 1″ slices.
2. To make the frosting, mix the confectioner’s sugar and water. Drizzle frosting over the rolls and EAT!
These cinnamon rolls are a quick snack kids can make all by themselves!
