Studio B Dance Center opens state-of-the-art facility.
After 21 years and four moves, Studio B Dance Center is now housed in a newly restored building that was built in the mid-1800s as a barn. It took over six months of renovations to convert the old, historic building into a state-of-the-art facility, which now holds three dance studios with floating sprung floors, four one-way viewing windows to watch all the classes, and two separate waiting rooms with free Wi-Fi.
Studio B offers classes seven days a week to boys and girls ages 2 and up. Styles include ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, pointe, and musical theater. Their highly trained staff helps students develop social and problem-solving skills while teaching technical skills and building self-confidence.
With a non-competitive and community-based culture, Studio B gives back to the community by offering free story-time programs to area toddlers, and taking company dancers to nursing homes throughout Westchester in December. And this winter, Studio B is teaming up with two other dance studios to help raise money for charities through a benefit performance in Brewster.
Studio B Dance Center has a local chapter of the National Dance Honor Society that recognizes middle school and high school students for their participation in dance and can be counted toward their academic record.
Studio B’s philosophy is, “We don’t teach kids to make great dancers, we teach dance to make great kids.”
