This summer, Westchester’s Steffi Nossen School of Dance is adding two new camps, Choreography and Hip Hop, to their ongoing repertoire. The school will also begin its partnership with Bethany Arts Community to offer a new location for dance camps. Choreography camp is slated to run from Aug. 12-16 and aims to teach rising fourth to seventh graders the fundamentals of creating their own solo dance voices through poetry written at camp.
From Aug. 19-23, Steffi Nossen will offer Hip Hop Camp to rising second to fifth graders. Students will learn the about hip hop culture and rich history through typical hip hop steps like breaking dancing, as well as through graffiti and disk scratching.
Camps at the Bethany Arts Community in Ossining will offer modern, ballet, jazz, theater dance, composition, and dance history camps for two weeks from July 29-Aug.2 and Aug. 5-9.
Each camp runs Monday-Friday, lasting from 9:00am-3:30pm each day, with a show at the end of each week. No prior experience is required for any of the camps.
