Steffi Nossen School of Dance, a dance studio located in White Plains, will offer three new summer camp programs—Story Book Camp, Dance Camp, and adaptive dance program—this summer in addition to its Musical Theater Intensive and Summer Dance Intensives for older children and teens.
Story Book Camp, for ages 3-5, will run in five weekly sessions from June 11- July 20. Campers will create dances, play instruments, and do crafts, all based on the story of the week. On Fridays, campers will show all that they’ve learned that week.
Dance Camp, for dancers in first through fifth grades, will run a two-week session, July 9-20. Campers will learn modern, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and musical theater dance styles, as well as dance history and composition. Dancers will also choreograph their own dances, and a showcase will be held Friday, July 20 so campers can show off what they’ve learned and choreographed.
The adaptive dance programs, as part of Steffi Nossen School of Dance’s Moving Wheels & Heels, will be offered for children and adults. The youth program for kids and teens will be held in half-day sessions from June 25-28. The adults adaptive dance program will be held in full-day sessions from June 18-23. Dancers in the Moving Wheels & Heels summer programs will be able to improve technique and range of motion, explore and express creativity, and enjoy an artistic experience with a diverse group of dancers.
“Our adaptive dance programs are part of our mission to expand opportunities to dance to all members of our community,” said Judith Ross, community relations director of Steffi Nossen School of Dance.
Steffi Nossen School of Dance’s summer camps and programs will be held in the facility’s fully air-conditioned dance studios in While Plains.
