Star America Preschool, a Midtown West preschool for ages 3 months to 6 years, recently introduced a new enrichment program. Students participate in Spanish, music, and yoga and dance programs throughout the week.

Star America Preschool offers a variety of programs for children ages 3 months to 6 years old, including a preschool and toddler program for ages 2 to 6 years, an infant day care for ages 6 weeks to 2 years, and a separate summer program. Open 8am to 6pm, the school’s mission is to provide students with a safe, nurturing, stimulating, and enriching environment.
Dana Bobé, the school’s educational director, wanted to offer students something a little different. Since entering her role at the school at the end of August, she has developed the school’s latest offering: an enrichment program.
This new program offers children Spanish, music, yoga and dance classes, Bobé says. All ages are welcome in these classes, with the exception of the yoga and dance class, which is for ages 2 and older.
The preschool has an open-door policy allowing parents to come in and watch their kids and interact with them during the classes. “I thought it would be great for the kids and parents,” Bobé says. “We have seen a lot more parent involvement.”
The enrichment program is included in tuition and classes run as follows: Spanish on Mondays, music on Wednesdays, and yoga and dance on every other Friday.
