Stacey Fauci, owner of Runnin’ Wild Kids Shoes, recently opened an independent toy store in Carroll Gardens: Runnin’ Wild Toys. The toy store in Brooklyn offers brands such as Lego and Pokémon, and offers music and art classes.
Runnin’ Wild Toys sells brands such as Lego, Fischer Price, and Pokémon to the Carroll Gardens community.
Having owned Runnin’ Wild Kids Shoes for the past two years, Stacey Fauci recently took over a toy store around the corner from the shoe store and renamed it Runnin’ Wild Toys.
The shoe store, located at 276 Court St. in Cobble Hill, opened in Aug 2012 and sells shoes from for infants through a big kids size 7, the equivalent of a women’s size 8. Fauci sells a wide variety of brands, including Nike and New Balance, and makes sure to properly fit everyone that comes in.
“It is a true sit and fit store,” she said. “Not everyone is the same, and we want to fit everybody and do it well.”
The store also offers a loyalty program, which is perfect for families with multiple kids: When you buy eight pairs of shoes, you receive a 50-percent discount on the ninth pair.
Expanding into the toy business in April 2014, Fauci used the same mindset, and a similar name. Fauci handpicks the toys that are sold and aims to provide a good mix. Brands sold at Runnin’ Wild Toys include Lego, Fischer Price, and Pokémon.
To ensure families have a successful experience at the store, Fauci says the employees know the inventory to help find the perfect toy.
The store also offers music and art classes in the mornings for kids ages 3 and younger. A hairdresser is on-site four days a week to give kids haircuts.
