Ready, Set, Push

Traditionally, new mamas get a gift after they give birth.
But The Pregnant New Yorker is delivering the goods (in advance) with its ‘Birth
Day Presence
’ workshop, an event designed to give expectant moms all the info
they need to have healthy, happy pregnancies. —

Next week’s workshop will bring in experts specializing in
all areas of pregnancy to dole out their best tips and tricks. Licensed massage
therapist Janet V. Markovits will tell tense expectant mommies how they can use
her specialty, prenatal and postpartum massage, to loosen up during and after
pregnancy.

Other highlights: lactation consultant Andrea Syms-Brown
will dish the dirt on breastfeeding. Certified fitness educator and personal
trainer Leah Keller will spill about her area of expertise, pre- and postnatal
exercise, to help expectant moms stay in shape during pregnancy and shed
postpartum pounds fast.

In addition, the workshop will feature advice and discussion
about nutrition during pregnancy, using chiropractic and acupuncture methods to
manage pain and discomfort, the definition of a doula and the role doulas can
play in a pregnancy, and the most cutting-edge ways to keep you and your child
happy before he exits the womb. (Plus, dreambirth imagery!)

And of course, no birthday is complete without a goody bag.
All workshop participants will be automatically entered into raffles to win the
treats new mommies need to ensure their pregnancies are safe, happy and
healthy.
