The Best Maze in NYC At Queens County Farm Museum

Yes, this maze is in NYC.

Getting lost is all the fun at the Queens County Farm Museum, where the Amazing Maize Maze is currently running on weekends through October 28. With three-acres of interactive and puzzle-solving fun, it’s a highly unique experience for city kids from age 7 all the way up to their teen years.

This year’s theme is “Once Upon A Time.” Before launching into this mysterious version of a storybook kingdom, the family will enjoy a Stalk Talk by a “loyal subject,” who will give you all the lowdown on how to find your way. Essentially, you’ll have to use clues in the cornfield to complete a crossword puzzle, a word scramble, and a map puzzle to piece together directions to the end.

Don’t worry, you won’t be completely left to your own devices. If you need help, you can get in touch with the Dukes & Duchesses team or consult the Mirror, Mirror In The Maze. If you want to send your legion out to explore different corners of the maze, you’ll be given flags to raise above the cornstalks so you can keep track of each other.

Flying the team flag high

We recommend that all kids be accompanied by their grown-up counterparts, since it will likely take at least an hour to navigate through the maze. And, once you cross the Victory Bridge at the end, be sure to check out the other festive fall activities going on at the farm. With pumpkin picking, haunted houses, and other  fall fun, the maze is just the beginning of a great family adventure!
