Sky Boys: The Building of the Empire State BuildingUp in the Sky

Aaron Riesebeck and Michael Mann star n the world-premiere musical Sky Boys: The Building of the Empire State Building, a family production that marks the 15th season of Making Books Sing (MBS), the New York-based nonprofit company dedicated to advancing children’s literacy and social development through professional theatre productions and arts-in-education programs. Part of the Sunday Concert series at the Queens Library Central branch, NYC-based klezmer act Isle of Klezbos performs genre-bending styles, featuring everything from folk dance and trance to Yiddish swing and tango. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the Queens Library Sunnyside branch, where they will be featuring Irish Traditional Music by fiddler Bernadette Fee and vocalist Mary Courtney. Voloshky Ukrainian Dance EnsembleUkrainian Dance

Want to explore a little world culture? Look no further than the Voloshky Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, performing this month at the Queensborough Performing Arts Center. Under the direction of Taras Lewyckyj, the 20-member ensemble combines the art of classical ballet with traditional Ukrainian dance and is committed to imparting the finer aspects of Ukrainian culture, history, and traditions upon its audiences. The company has performed throughout various festival circuits and concert halls in the United States and Canada, with a repertoire consisting of over 45 traditional dances from the Ukraine, including the energetic Hopak and the elegant Kokhanochka. Experience your favorite Elvis material at the Queensborough Performing Arts Center’s presentation of All Shook Up.
