Play Fair Toy and Entertainment Convention Announces Dates and New Initiatives

Back for its second year, Play Fair, a toy and entertainment convention for all ages, will take place Nov. 4-5 at the Javits Center and be bigger than before. This year Play Fair will be offering VIP hours, a video gaming lounge, and a larger location with new content and characters.

Play Fair launched February 2016 at the Javits Center, but this year the convention will be held in a space three times its original size. The 2017 Play Fair will include a family-friendly video gaming lounge rated E for everyone and fun activities such as Rockettes classes. There will also be a second activity stage this year where guests can watch Lego master builders and cartoon screenings and also engage in activities such as light saber training.

The 2017 Play Fair will have more characters on-site for meet-and-greets and photo opps with families. Guests can expect to see more Shopkins as well as Buddy the Elf. Alumni athletes from the New York Rangers and the New York Knicks will also make an appearance.

Play Fair’s new presenting sponsors are Toys “R” Us and Spin Master. The convention also has new companies participating including Cartoon Network, while other companies are back with more to offer visitors, such as Lego and Moose Toys. Guests will also be able to vote for the toy of the year.

Play Fair will be held at the Javits Center, which is located at 655 W. 34th St. in Hell’s Kitchen. For more information and to buy tickets, visit playfairny.com. VIP tickets are limited to 500 people per session and include a gift bag and early access to the show floor.

Play Fair is a partnership between the Toy Industry Association and LeftField Media.
