Although summer is nearing its close, kids can still enjoy their last week of freedom before the school year begins. The city is still teeming with activities for all ages! Here are our picks for the best kid-friendly events of the week.

Friday, August 31

Material Lab at the MoMA
The Museum of Modern Art
10:30 am-7:30 pm
Friday is the final day of the Material Lab at the MoMA, an interactive exhibit where kids of all ages are invited to touch different materials used in the creation of art and paint using Microsoft’s new digital painting program.

Saturday, September 1

Kayaking on the Hudson
Riverside Park
10 am-5 pm
Learn how to kayak on the Hudson during Riverside Park’s free kayaking tutorials. These 20-minute sessions will have you paddling like a pro in no time! Kayaks and life jackets will be provided.

Sunday, September 2

Bird Watching for Families
Central Park
10 am-11 am
Pack a pair of binoculars and head over to the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center in Central Park for a morning of bird watching. Discover the astounding varieties of birds along the Harlem Meer after an introduction to bird watching by Audubon guides. A limited number of binoculars will be provided.

Activities are related to the lyrics, in order to familiarize the children with the words and their meanings. Some of the songs encourage the children to dance. Brooklyn Robot Foundry - Virtual Classes
