“Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp”

Based on the tale in 1001 Arabian Nights, this puppet production of “Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp” features a “live Djinni”–that’s a genie to you and me!–a disappearing castle, and a flying carpet. Will Aladdin rescue the princess from the evil sorcerer? Ages 4 and up can find out this Saturday and Sunday at Puppetworks, Inc. in Brooklyn. Tickets are $8 for children and $9 for adults. Runs through December 22.

Celebrate all things honey during the New York City Honey Festival in Queens! Festgoers can sample and purchase everything from local honey and desserts to beeswax candles and and makeup. Mid-Autumn Moon Festival & Children’s Lantern Parade

Chinatown’s Sara Roosevelt Park will host the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival where all ages can enjoy street dance performances, giveaways, arts and crafts, traditional Chinese food, game demos, and more. Kids can even make their own lanterns and march in the Children’s Lantern Parade. Admission is free.
11th Annual West Side County Fair

What better way to celebrate the (soon-to-be) end of summer than with a county fair. The West Side County Fair in Riverside Park will include attractions like sideshow performers, carnival rides and games, reptile shows, aerialists, and live music. Children are invited to visit the Green Acre Environmental Corner for activities that promote environmental awareness and “green” animal care. Admission is free.
