The Big Apple Circus: Luminocity

Send in the clowns! The Big Apple Circus will present its newest show, Luminocity, during its limited engagement at Lincoln Center beginning this Friday. All ages will be amazed by Circus regulars like the acrobats, clowns, trapeze artists, jugglers, and animals that perform surprising stunts. And every seat under the Big Top tent provides a fantastic view of all the action, because all seats are 50 feet or less from the ring. Show is two hours in length and includes one intermission. Runs through Sunday, January 12, 2014. Tickets start at $25.

Ghouls & Gourds
Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Celebrate fall and Halloween at Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s annual Ghouls & Gourds event. Festivities include a Pumpkin Patch Barnyard, a create-your-own-potato-person workshop, a costume parade, a Victorian Toy Parlour, and more. The Space Kittys, Unlocking the Truth, the Mettawee River Theater Company, and others will provide live entertainment. Plus, join Brooklyn children’s book authors and illustrators like Melanie Hope Greenberg and Robert Kimmel Smith in the Book Barn for stories and book discussions. Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for kids over 12, and free for children 12 and under. Event will be held rain or shine.

Children’s Fall Festival

Spend the day at Queens County Farm Museum for its Children’s Fall Festival! Kids of all ages are welcome to enjoy hay rides, magic shows, games, animal feedings, pony rides, a haunted house, pumpkin painting, and more. Food and craft vendors will be selling refreshments and seasonal gifts. The Museum invites children to come dressed in costume. Admission is $5 per person, however some activities cost extra.
Bunnicula

To kick off their new Family Theater Series season, the Tribeca PAC will stage Theatreworks USA’s musical production of Bunnicula. Based on the classic children’s book by James and Deborah Howe, the story revolves around the Monroe family’s mysteriously fanged pet rabbit. Is Bunnicula causing the Monroe’s vegetables to drain color and turn white? Find out during this engaging performance geared for ages 5 and up. Tickets are $25.
Halloween Parade & Pumpkin Sail
Charles A. Dana Discovery Center in Central Park

Grab your costume and jack-o’-lantern for a favorite Halloween tradition, the Halloween Parade & Pumpkin Sail in Central Park. Before twilight, come to the park for live music, arts and crafts, and a parade. Then at dusk watch tons of candle-lit pumpkins set sail in the largest pumpkin flotilla in NYC. Space is limited. No advanced registration is required. All ages are welcome.
