This weekend has a little something for everyone! Dance lovers will cherish HyperISH at New Victory Theater, a stylish performance with tons of energy, and a back-to-back show of “Carnival of the Animals” and “Sleeping Beauty’s Wedding” with New York Theater Ballet. For happy museum-goers, the Guggenheim is opening an awesome exhibit of work by kids, called “A Year With Children 2014.” Last but not least, celebrate Mother’s Day with two great events, the garden party at the New York Botanical Garden, and a special showing of Inspector Pulse’s Mother from the Chamber Music Society!

For a one-of-a-kind, energetic performance, see ISH, a dance company from Amsterdam performing at New Victory Theater. “HyperISH” is their newest show, a fun production that explores the theme of personal identity and features a fusion of several dance genres, including ballet, breakdancing, house, and hip hop.  From $14

A Year With Children 2014
Guggenheim Museum

Get a dose of art at the Guggenheim’s “A Year with Children 2014” exhibition. The showing features student work (whose creators range from second to sixth grade) from the museum’s artist-in-residence program, Learning Through Art. The highlighted pieces represent 11 of New York City’s public elementary schools and will be on display in Annex Level Three of the museum. Free with museum admission

Carnival of the Animals & Sleeping Beauty’s Wedding

The New York Theatre Ballet brings the perfect pair of performances to families with “Carnival of the Animals” and “Sleeping Beauty’s Wedding.” This double whammy first focuses on Queen Diana, her shaggy lion, and other peaceful animals who encounter a pair of lost children; then shifts to the fairytale nuptials of Sleeping Beauty. Children $35, Adults $40

Mother’s Day Weekend Garden Party
New York Botanical Garden

This special garden party is all about celebrating moms for Mother’s Day! With a whole slew of family programming, including live music, games, picnics, and more, the kiddos will love the breath of fresh air on this special occasion. Don’t forget some of the day’s best highlights, like watercolor painting, Mother’s Day card making (and other arts and crafts), and story time!  Children $15, Adults $30

Sunday, May 4

Celebrate Mother’s Day in a way that kids will love too! The Chamber Music Society is presenting a production of “Inspector Pulse’s Mother,” a fun play that follows a Private Ear in his mission to write a song fit for his mom. Explore what makes music say “I love you” and don’t miss the instrumental petting zoo in the lobby before the show! From $10

<p>The Wild Center, nestled within the breathtaking landscape of New York's Adirondack Park, offers an unforgettable journey into the heart of nature.
