Madison Square Park Kids Concert Series

This summer, the Kids Concert series in Madison Square Park is back with more spectacular singers and bands. Every Tuesday and Thursday between June 11 and August 8, the park will host free musical performances from the likes of The Suzi Shelton Band, The Deedle Deedle Dees, Audra Rox, The Dirty Sock Funtime Band, The Rockdoves, and more. This Tuesday, Steve Roslonek of SteveSongs will kick off the series with his award-winning, educational tunes. Concerts will take place rain or shine.
The 35th Annual Museum Mile Festival
Fifth Avenue between East 82nd and 105th Streets

One of the can’t miss events of the season, the Museum Mile Festival, is a celebration of art and culture along several blocks of Fifth Avenue. Museums along the festival route will open their doors to visitors for free. There will also be live music, arts & crafts projects, and entertainment for kids. Participating museums include The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Jewish Museum, The Guggenheim, the Museum of the City of New York, and many more. The festival will be held rain or shine and is free for all.

Summer in the Square

Summer in the Square, Union Square Park’s free summer entertainment series, caters to all. On Thursdays through August 15, join the park for fitness classes, dance and music performances, and children’s activities. This week, bring little yogis ages 6 and under to Yoga Storytime with Karma Kids Yoga (10am) followed by an afternoon dance party with Baby Loves Disco (11am).

The 10th Annual International Toy Theater Festival

One of the more unusual annual festivals in NYC, the 10th annual International Toy Theater Festival and Temporary Toy Theater Museum pack a big punch. Small theaters from around the world converge in St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn to bring city-dwellers unique plays. Kids will enjoy the Temporary Toy Theater Museum with its fascinating collection of tabletop stages and family workshops. The festival runs through June 23. Festival passes are $75. Tickets for individual performances and workshops are also available starting at $20.
