“Molly Bloom-Lately”

“Molly Bloom-Lately,” the third installment in The New York Children’s Theater Festival series, tells the tale of a third-grader named Molly who finds herself being bullied at school for her small stature. Ages 5 and up will learn the importance of confronting bullying in a positive way and the value of having self-esteem, all in an entertaining environment. Tickets start at $18.
Opening Weekend: A Year with Children 2013 Exhibit
The Guggenheim Museum

The Guggenheim has partnered with Learning Through Art, an arts-education program that sends teaching artists to public schools across the city to aid students in creating art inspired by the class’s curriculum. The museum will display a hundred pieces of artwork created by second though sixth grade children in schools throughout the five boroughs. Exhibit media include drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, collage, and more. Free with museum admission. On display through June 19.

In this dance workshop led by urban-dance aficionado and New Victory teaching artist Rennie Harris, jitterbugs ages 5 and up will learn competition-worthy dance steps and experience what it’s like to be part of a dance crew. Workshops run throughout the day. Free with museum admission.
