Picasso Kidz, an art studio for kids ages 2-12, recently opened in Greenlawn. A New York state-certified art teacher owns the studio. Picasso Kidz also hosts art birthday parties for kids and mommy-and-me classes for young children.

Before opening Picasso Kidz, owner Michelle Daddino taught elementary school art for eight years. After her daughter was born, Daddino decided to open her own art studio to be able to continue teaching kids art. She opened Picasso Kidz in September.
Children ages 2-12 years are welcome and are enrolled in classes based on their age group. Daddino teaches most of the art classes herself, but has another New York state-certified teacher help with two to three classes a week.
“We have a teaching background, so we know how to interact with children and deal with certain behaviors,” Daddino says.
For ages 2-3, Picasso Kidz offers a mommy-and-me class. Classes for older children are drop-off. The studio offers children a variety of classes, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and art history, which are “developmentally correct for the child’s age,” Daddino says.
The art studio also offers birthday parties. There are three packages to choose from, all of which include time in the art studio, and two hostesses, one of which will be a certified art teacher.
Picasso Kidz offers 12-week sessions in the fall, winter, and spring, and is expecting to hold an eight-week session in the summer. Enrollment for the winter session is now open.
