A new pediatric dental office, owned by the same dentist behind Pediatric Dentistry of Suffolk County, opened in Garden City earlier this year. The office is decorated with underwater-themed murals, and offers evening and weekend hours.
The new office is equipped with state-of-the-art technology including digital X-ray machines, video games for patients, and iPads. Each exam room is decorated with underwater-themed murals to provide a fun, child-friendly experience.
Dr. Ioannou, Danielle Cooper, D.M.D., and the rest of the dental team treat children and teens ages 1-18. Dr. Ioannou received his degree in dental medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine with a residency in pediatric dentistry from Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, and he is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Cooper received her degree in dental medicine and did a two-year pediatric residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Ioannou strives to mold the behaviors of children early and to help them develop a positive attitude toward dental hygiene, while also making each visit fun. He even makes appointments fun by singing to patients.
“Our goal is to teach preventative care and to establish a dental home starting at the age of one,” Dr. Ioannou says. “We want to treat every child like they are our own.”
Most insurance plans are accepted in order to minimize the financial burden of out of pocket costs. The office has evening and weekend hours to accommodate to busy school schedules.
