St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral School in Little Italy, the city’s first catholic school, has closed its doors after 188 years. But this week you can peruse and purchase some of their inventory at this once in a lifetime yard sale until all the goods are gone. So whether you want to motivate your new kindergartner to work at a single seat desk or add a little character to your home, there are dozens of old children’s school desks for just $10 each and flying pigs, as well as other hand welded metal animals, starting at $49. ($235 for a beautiful welded metal elephant.) And of course the usual $1 yard sale chotchkies abound. St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral School is located on Prince Street between Mulberry and Mott.
