New York Family’s Weekend Planner June 25-27

Looking for some great family adventures this weekend? Check out our weekly newsletter! Every week we scour the city for the best kid-approved exhibits, performances, festivals and more, pick our favorites and send them out each Thursday, just in time for the weekend.—

This week we’re especially excited about Children’s Day At The South Street Seaport, The NYC Kids Fest at Morningside Park, The First Annual Bronx Family Day, and the Swedish Summer Solstice Festival in Battery Park City.

If you’re looking for more freestyle fun for the weekend, nothing beats a trip to the beach on a hot summer day! To help you pick the perfect destination,  we’ve also compiled a list of our favorite local beaches, all of which are less than an hour away and accessible by train or car. Some are popular family favorites, but we’ve also included a few lesser-known locations to explore, like a beachy alcove in Long Island City that’s reachable by a four-minute water taxi, or a virtually private but fully public beach that follows after Brighton Beach and Coney Island.  We bet you’ll make a few discoveries!
