We first met Jane Mayle some twenty years ago when we were all working as models in Paris. We remember how she went everywhere with a tattered diary filled with thoughts that crowded her creative mind and images that inspired her. Years later, those daily logs emerged in the form of her own clothing line which made her an instant darling in the fashion world. — In her words, she followed her heart and created the clothes that she wanted to wear and hoped that other women would as well. Already loving Jane the woman, it was not a great leap for us to fall in love with Mayle the brand and its girlie frocks with the rest of Manhattan and beyond. So we were all a bit crestfallen when she took a fashion break and closed her doors in 2009. And why we are now so excited she’s back, if only until 10/23, at a pop up store on Great Jones Street showcasing more of her feminine inspirations. So we recommend you take advantage of this chance to own a piece of Mayle because Jane has no plans at the moment to do another encore. She was simply, once again, bursting with ideas that refused to stay contained. 2 Great Jones Street. Mayleonline.com
