Whether it’s tots or tweens, more and more kids
seem to be missing out on a crucial element of growing up–pure, unstructured
play. To help parents understand the importance of play, a group of NYC
institutions, along with some legendary educators, have put together an amazing
event—the Ultimate Block Party, which will take place in Central
Park this Sunday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. — The event will
feature 25 interactive, specially-designed, playful learning-inspired activities,
including "The World’s Largest Simon Says," building and designing,
story writing, role playing and more. We recently chatted with two of the founders
of the event, Kathy Hirsh Pasek (the author of the book "Einstein Didn’t
Use Flashcards") and Andy Ackerman, the executive director of CMOM. Click here for our article and more
details about the event. Hope to see you there.
